Pupils' Views of the School

Our school is placed in a lovely village called Singleton. It’s a nice village with friendly locals. Our school isn’t very big, we only have about thirty eight children and they’re all so friendly.

All children help each other a lot and are so friendly to each and every one of us, and the teachers are so comforting, they don’t treat anyone any differently.

We always have different things on different days. Monday we have Science; Tuesday we have Art; Wednesday we have PE; Thursday we have swimming; and Friday we have Gym or finish off some work. But they’re only the main events, we have a lot more. These are so fun to do because we’re doing something different every day.

Normally we go on a school trip every year to the Isle of Wight, or sometimes we just walk up the beautiful Levin Down behind us, which is the village’s main attraction.

Finally, if I had to give this school a mark out of ten, I would give it top score, I think it’s brilliant! I love this school.

Singleton CE Primary School can be located in the heart of Singleton. Singleton School is a much loved school by those who attend it and work there. The school also has lots of fund raising events that all of the children take part in.

The people who come to our school are very loving and kind. Sometimes for special treats we have people come and talk to us or put on shows.

Every day the Junior class splits in to groups. Year 3 and 4 stay with Mrs Turner or Mrs Stansfield, and Year 5 and 6 go to Mrs Barker (our headteacher).

Every once in a while we go out on a trip with the school. These are some of the amazing places we have been to: Little Canada, London and to the Gamelan and we enjoyed them all.

All of the children that come here thoroughly enjoy it. We think it is a great school to come to, because all the teachers and pupils are very kind and helpful. The children say, ‘It’s a brilliant school.’

So there you have it, it’s a brilliant school!

Singleton School is one of many schools around the country. It is in the heart of Singleton village near Chichester.

It is quite a small school with about 40 people attending it every day. The year groups start from Reception and go up to Year 6. There are three classrooms, two of them are main ones. The Infants classroom has Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. The Juniors classroom has Years 3,4,5, and 6 Even though Years 5 and 6 use the library for Maths and English. Singleton also has a playschool for the young learners.

Singleton provides a good selection of lessons, including Design Technology, Art, PE and many more. As a break from our lessons we have an assembly at 10.45. We also have two main breaks.

Singleton occasionally has school trips, mainly to give the children an idea of what their topics are actually about. However we do have a school trip mainly for fun every two years. We travel by ferry and go to a place called Little Canada situated on the Isle of Wight.

The teachers give up their spare time to organise after school clubs, most of which are fun. Over the last couple of years they have included: fun run, story making, games and many more.

Drama is a club every year, helping the children learn their lines for the end of year school play.

Over all I think this school is a great one, with a wide range of educational lessons and equipment.

I would recommend this school to anyone who lived in the area!
