Singleton School is one of many
schools around the country. It is in the heart of Singleton village near
Chichester.
It is quite a small school with
about 40 people attending it every day. The year groups start from
Reception and go up to Year 6. There are three classrooms, two of them
are main ones. The Infants classroom has Reception, Year 1 and Year 2.
The Juniors classroom has Years 3,4,5, and 6 Even though Years 5 and 6
use the library for Maths and English. Singleton also has a playschool
for the young learners.
Singleton provides a good
selection of lessons, including Design Technology, Art, PE and many
more. As a break from our lessons we have an assembly at 10.45. We also
have two main breaks.
Singleton occasionally has
school trips, mainly to give the children an idea of what their topics
are actually about. However we do have a school trip mainly for fun
every two years. We travel by ferry and go to a place called Little
Canada situated on the Isle of Wight.
The teachers give up their spare
time to organise after school clubs, most of which are fun. Over the
last couple of years they have included: fun run, story making, games
and many more.
Drama is a club every year,
helping the children learn their lines for the end of year school play.
Over all I think this school is
a great one, with a wide range of educational lessons and equipment.
I would recommend this school to
anyone who lived in the area!
