Theresa Smyth

Headteacher

Prior to this headship, I worked in 4 schools in London and West Sussex.  I am married, have 4 children and live in Chichester - but was born in the seaside capital of the north - Blackpool!  I love to spend time walking at the beach and occasionally, when perfect weather prevails - have been known to swim!

Janet Holt

Foundation Governor and Acting Chair

I am the grandmother of 4 grandchildren currently at Singleton school. I went to Singleton as did most of my children, and love the family feel of our small but beautifully formed school.  We have a great governing team, and together we pool our skills and resources to ensure  the children and staff  have the support to be the very best they can be.

Mrs Emi Greene

Staff Governor

I have taught in West Sussex since 2013 and have worked in primary education across all key stages before moving to Singleton CofE where I embarked upon my journey and passion as a SENCo. I am married, have a family of two young children, two pet rabbits and love living in the beautiful West Sussex countryside

Jack Lerwill Parent Governor

I have spent a number of years working in the sport and leisure industry and have recently moved to a new role within the charity sector.  I am married, have 2 sons, 1 dog and have lived in Singleton since 2018.  I have 1 son at Singleton CofE school and 1 at Singleton Playschool.   I thoroughly enjoy being active, predominately through playing hockey, but have even cycled to Barcelona!

Kathy Manouch Foundation Governor

I was born in Chichester and moved to Singleton in 2020 with my sister.  I spent 18 years working as a Practice Manager for a local optician before leaving to take on the role of Manager for the Age UK Charity shop in Chichester. I am now also a  trainer for new Age UK managers in this area.  I have served on PCCs for many years and have been a church warden.  I am interested in local and family history, love gardening, enjoy the theatre and live music.

Helen Morris

Foundation Governor

I grew up in Singleton, taught Spanish and Drama in U.K, English in Zimbabwe and was a City Councillor in New Zealand before spending the final 15 years of my working life as a psychiatric nurse. Raising a large family of home grown, adopted and foster children gave me a huge appreciation of how Primary education attempted to meet the needs of each of my children.

Richard Murfitt

LA Governor

Before retiring in 2017 I had a varied career working in schools in London, Surrey and West Sussex. I spent many years also working in the construction industry. I live in Singleton and have two daughters and six grandchildren .

I  moved  from the Lake District, when I was 5 years old and now live in Chichester with John, my partner of over 40 years. We have 2 daughters, and 3 grandchildren, who are a joyful part of our lives. I have worked  in Youth Services, Outdoor Pursuits, and The Princes Trust, before turning to accounting. My love of mountains has taken me to the Base of Everest, The Alps and of course back to The Lake District.

Robert Syred Co-opted Governor I grew up in Storrington, and upon leaving college spent a year in Australia. I attended university and obtained an Honours degree in Building Surveying. I live in Tangmere with my wife Samantha and three of my five children, two of which are here at Singleton C of E Primary School. I have worked as a Surveyor and Project Manager in the brewing industry and following a life changing accident whilst abroad, I now run my own business. I have a love of listed buildings and enjoy many outdoor activities and spending time with my family
Nat Wheeler Parent Governor I grew up in the relatively local village of Portchester in Fareham and followed a traditional route through education, studying Product Design and Innovation at university. I currently live in Chichester with my wife and two young daughters (one of whom started at Singleton this year) and work for an engineering company developing bespoke low energy cooling solutions for data centre customers. In my (limited) spare time I enjoy working on DIY projects around our home and garden and spending time with family and friends.
